In the past month, ACORN members have got pest control and compensation for one family living with mice, rats and cockroaches, and got a promise to remove dangerous broken asbestos from one of Bradfords biggest tower blocks. But there's a lot more to do. From litter to bad landlords, from dangerous roads to drugs, from antisocial behaviour to unemployment, Bradford's full of problems that only collective action can solve. The first step to winning these battles is showing landlords, councillors and estate agents that we mean business. And the first step to doing that is launching ACORN officially in Bradford.
On the 30th of July, ACORN Bradford will officially launch at the Grange Interlink Community Centre, choosing our leadership and priorities for next year. Not only will this be a great chance to meet other ACORN members and get trained for collective action, but it's a crucial step to making sure we can win as a union- the more people we have at the launch, the more seriously our demands get taken, and the more likely we are to win.
Whether you're an experienced ACORN member or just interested in the union, this will be a great first step to a better Bradford!
