Renters' Vote

Renters' Vote was an initiative led by ACORNthe union for the community. For the past six years, we’ve been organising renters across the UK.

Homeless, temporary housed and private renters—during the 2019 General Election we were aiming to mobilise those most excluded by the voting system.

ACORN hit the streets for our biggest ever get out the vote ground operation. We called upon our members and supporters to sign up to an ACORN voter registration team near them

If you are homeless or live in insecure housing, the chances are you’re missing from the electoral register. If you’re a private renter, there’s only a 50% chance you’ll turn out to vote.

If we want to end the housing crisis, we know this needs to change.

At ACORN, we never wait for change to happenwe make it for ourselves. That’s why in 2019, we hit the streets and linked-up with service providers with a mission to mobilising those traditionally underrepresented at the ballot box.
