The mayor has declared war on the poor! He is moving to cut the council tax benefit, a vital lifeline for 23,000 of the lowest income households in our city.
We launched the campaign by holding a lively and passionate cost of living forum in the entrance of City Hall. At the same time, a small team disrupted the cabinet meeting inside the building 5 separate times, forcing them to stop the meeting. We're not letting council bosses carry on with 'business as usual' while their proposed cuts are threatening the lowest income families in the city.
We're holding a rally on College Green outside City Hall, to show the council our united opposition against cuts to the council tax benefit. All are welcome.
Meet at 5pm on College Green - look for the red ACORN flags!
