Good Landlord Charter Manchester

Rent increases, mould, leaks. Everyone has their story of bad housing. In Manchester we’re seeing rents go up by 20% in the last year and the tragic death of Awaab Ishak in Rochdale showed us just how bad the standards are in Greater Manchester.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) is proposing the “Good Landlord Charter” to encourage all landlords, from the ones who own one property to the social housing landlords, to get their houses up to standard.

This could mean that tenants are protected from spiralling rent increases, get their homes fixed on time and would mean higher standards for the houses we live in. We need to make sure that this happens and let Andy Burnham know what we think.

Urgent - we have until 26th February 2024 to get this filled out.
