Fundraising Officer

Community Operations C.I.C. is hiring a Fundraising Officer to support the work of grassroots community organisations, working for social and economic change.  

The initial year of work will be in support of ACORN, a national community union working in support of low income communities around the country. About the job

As a Fundraising Officer with Community Operations C.I.C., you will be responsible for researching funders, drafting and submitting bids, and preparing and submitting monitoring reports. You will also help to maintain and develop relationships with existing and potential funders. 

No previous experience is required, but we are looking for someone who can communicate well with a variety of different groups.  Support for your professional development is a priority for us and reviews, support, and feedback will be provided on your work. We will be aiming for bids and reports you write to be submitted independently by the end of the year but this can be flexible and will depend on the proposal.

Your daily work will involve: 

  • Researching potential funders and maintaining a list of prospects,
  • Leading on and completing funding applications, with support and guidance as needed,
  • Preparing monitoring reports to an agreed schedule. When we receive a grant we have to provide regular updates on how the money is being spent, what outcomes we’ve achieved etc. This will involve speaking to staff and collating information,
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy,
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with funders,
  • Providing support for meetings and events for the fundraising department as required.

Qualifications

No formal qualifications are necessary. We’re primarily looking for someone with good communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to persuade others.

Details

Salary: £18,018 - 19,000 depending on experience

Contract length: 1 year with possibility of extension if funding allows

Location: We are a national organisation with hubs around the UK, and there is the possibility of working remotely for the right candidate.

Interviews

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an assessment day on Wednesday 5th January, involving an interview and task. 

The successful candidate will be employed by Community Operations C.I.C. and will work on behalf of ACORN in the first year and potentially other community partners in future years.
