Finance and Membership Assistant

1 Full-time and 1 Part-time role available

We are looking for an excellent Finance and Membership Assistant to support the work of ACORN the Union, working within a small accounts team to provide operational support for the national union, reporting to our Head of Operations.

About the job

The Finance and Membership Assistant will work as part of a small team. Your daily work will include recording payments, processing invoices, database maintenance and dealing with membership emails. Monthly tasks will include reconciliations and full training will be given. You will be flexible in order to provide other administrative support as necessary. No formal qualifications are necessary but a high level of numeracy is a must. We’re primarily looking for someone with a strong work ethic and enthusiasm for processing and communicating financial information. Although you do not need extensive knowledge of higher accounting, we are looking for someone who is prepared to further their accounts knowledge and can grow with the role. Based at ACORN’s office in Lawrence Hill, Bristol, you will work a total of 35 hours (21 p/t) weekly with the possibility of some start/finish flexibility between 9am and 8pm. 

 

You will be employed by Community Operations C.I.C. and work directly for our client ACORN the Union, a mass membership organisation and a direct action community union. Salary and benefits

You will benefit from working with a friendly, dedicated team, with full training given, and enhanced worker benefits, including 28 days holiday pro rata plus bank holidays, pension scheme, a wellbeing bonus and health app. 

Starting salary of £9.90 p/h and additional increment after successful completion of probation. ACORN and Community Operations CIC are Real Living Wage employers and committed to an annual rise in line with the Real Living Wage Foundation published rates.
