ACORN is looking for a Finance and Membership Officer to help us build power to fight for social and economic change across England and Wales starting on Monday 14th July, 2025!
About the job
The Finance and Membership Assistant will work as part of a small team. Your daily work will include recording payments, answering membership queries, and managing membership updates such as cancellations and dues amount changes. Monthly tasks will include tracking member retention and staff attendance, with potential to take on further responsibilities including processing payments, payroll and calculating membership numbers.
Your daily work will involve
- processing invoices to pay and electronically file
- keeping records of card transactions and matching them with receipts
- recording project expenditure and providing information to Fundraising Department
- supporting the Organising Department with recruitment and retention monitoring
- staffing report for HR committee
- support for monthly payroll
- support for hiring processes including scheduling for assessment and interview

This role is a 12 months fixed-term contract, with the view to be extended depending on funding.
💸Salary
£22,932pa, Real Living Wage, rising to £23,182pa after probation passed
If based in London, £25,207pa rising to £25,457pa after probation passed
🏖️Holiday allowance
28 days plus bank holidays
🔎Location
City with ACORN staffed office preferable (Brighton, Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds, London, Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle) but potential for remote or hybrid working for the right candidate.

35 hours a week
