Decent Homes Standard

Too many of us live in poor quality homes, with damp, cold and disrepair commonplace in rented houses. As part of the Renters Reform Bill, the Government is currently running a consultation on bringing in a 'Decent Homes Standard' for the private rented sector in England, a set of legal standards that homes will need to meet to be rented out.

To help make the legislation as strong and effective for tenants as possible, we need as many renters as possible to fill in the consultation.

This should take between 10-15 minutes. The consultation closes on 14th October 2022.

You should answer the consultation how you feel best, but below you can find ACORN's response, and the reasons behind our response, which you are welcome to refer to to help you fill in the consultation if you wish.
