ACORN's membership is bigger locally than any of the political parties. We know what low to moderate income people locally need. The political elite will serve their own interests, unless we hold them to account.
With local elections coming up, we have a chance to get commitments from councillors to meet our members' needs across the city. They need our votes, so let's make sure they give us something in return.
- Council tenants - what are the commitments you need from the local council?
- Private renters - what commitments will make your housing more safe, stable, and affordable?
- And beyond housing, what else can we push councillors to commit to that will improve our lives?
Come to the March members' meeting to decide what we're pushing councillors across the city to prioritise, and be part of the plan to make sure they serve the people of Bristol.
We'll also discuss the ACORN conference which is coming up soon.
Meet at Tony Benn House, Victoria Street, BS1 6AY. Soup from 6.30pm, meeting from 7 until 8.30pm. See you there!
