ACORN July Quarterly General Meeting

Come to our Quarterly General Meeting on Thursday 21st July to decide the activity of your union over the next 3 months!
At the meeting members will vote on the next steps in our End Housing Discrimination campaign, which has seen the Council pass a motion to end housing discrimination in the city. You'll also have the opportunity to get involved in an exciting action for this campaign - marching on letting agencies across the city to get them to pledge to end discriminatory practices!
Members will also vote on whether to launch a new campaign to force the Council to address urgent housing issues that they've so far failed to act on. A full proposal for this campaign will be emailed out with the meeting agenda. If members vote to launch this campaign, we'll also plan the first action for this campaign at the meeting.
Members will also vote in a new branch Membership Officer, as well hear how to get involved in important activities to grow and develop the branch over the next 3 months. This includes outreach to grow the union, member defence training, and a Women in Organising training for women members of the branch.
Please RSVP to this event as it will help the committee prep for the meeting. See you on July 21st!
